QUICK PICKS?
Just a way to fool players
The Second October 2001 Lottery Newsletter
I always disliked the idea of Quick Picks. What you are doing is: You are asking the people that sell you lottery tickets, what numbers to pick. That always worried me. What if they knew which ones will be picked? They would not give me the right numbers. PAR:

Trust or no trust. There is a problem with Quick Picks. Let me explain. All computers that accept lottery tickets are connected to a central computer that gathers the information of each pick.

That is a fact! That is also why the lottery organization pretty quickly knows, what was won, even where and when.

But here is the problem starts: It is practically possible for the central system to evaluate all of the current picks and give information back to the local computers which numbers were not picked as often, and more or less telling that machine what numbers to pick in the next Quick Pick round. Where you not sometimes surprised how the odd numbers look that you received from the Quick Pick machine? Numbers that you probably would never have picked?

What would be the advantage of the lottery organization to do this? Very easy. If they spread out the picks evenly across the field of choices they know beforehand how much money they have to spend during this draw. And that is good for them, but NOT for you. And not good for the player community.

Now I do not say that this really happens, but I say it is possible and it effects your chances.
