FILTER FUNCTIONS
The most important part of the reduction is the use of filters. For simplicity reasons we show the filter selections as SELECT picking only numbers that fit the selection. Every command is also available as UNSELECT which means that numbers that fit the selection will be eliminated. Also similar filters are grouped together to reduce explanation redundancy.

Following you will find the list of all Filter Functions:

[SELECT KEYS]
[SELECT KEYS A]
[SELECT KEYS B]
[SELECT KEYS C]
These filters look for digits or key numbers within the number. Your choices can be picked from the 10 possible digits; 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9.

While the first selection looks for digits within the entire number, the three additional commands are looking only in a certain position: A is the first position, B is the second position, C is the last position in a Pick 3 number.

[SELECT NUMBERS]
[SELECT NUMBERS BOXED]
These filters compare the input with the list of numbers you are filtering from and keep only the ones that are in the compare list. The first choice looks at numbers straight the second one compares all possible boxed numbers (6 for Singles, 3 for Doubles and 1 for Triples). The possible entries are all numbers from 000 up to 999.

Similar to the filters before here your current list compared with a different numbers list. The first four choices look at numbers straight the BOXED versions compare all possible boxed numbers (6 for Singles, 3 for Doubles and 1 for Triples). There are no additional entries needed for this selection.

[SELECT OCCURRENCE]
[SELECT OCCURRENCE BOXED]
These filters allow you select numbers depending on how often they occur within the list. The first command looks at the numbers straight, the second one looks the numbers boxed (counting the numbers in all boxed possibilities). Entries are numbers starting with 1 such as 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12..

[SELECT PAIRS]
[SELECT PAIRS AB]
[SELECT PAIRS AC]
[SELECT PAIRS BC]
These filters look for pairs of digits within the number. Your choices can be picked from the 100 possible pairs form 00 to 99.

While the first selection looks for pairs within the entire number, the 3 additional commands are looking only in a certain positions: e.g. AB relates to the first and second position, BC to the second and last position.

[SELECT PAIRS BOXED]

[SELECT PAIRS BC BOXED]
While the previous filter looked at straight pairs (e.g. 13 being different from 31) these choices do not, meaning e.g. 13 and 31 are the count as the same boxed pair.

[SELECT SUMS]
[SELECT SUMS AB]
[SELECT SUMS AC]
[SELECT SUMS BC]
This filter finds numbers that have the sums that you request. In the Pick 3 game the largest sum is 27 (for the 999: 9+9+9=27) and 0 for the lowest sum (000; 0+0+0=0). Your entry options are numbers between 0 and 27.

The filters below the first one only look at the 3 possible pair locations (entry options are 0 to 18).

[SELECT CUT SUMS]
[SELECT CUT SUMS AB]
[SELECT CUT SUMS AC]
[SELECT CUT SUMS BC]
Based on the SUM selection this filter uses only the last digit of the sum of the numbers for comparison. For example 456 (4+5+6=15) has the CUT SUM of 5 (the last digit from the sum 15). Entry options here are 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9.

The filters below the first one only look at the 3 possible positions.

Also based on the SUM selection the ROOTS filter – also knows as root sums - is the sum of the sum adding up the numbers until only one digit is left. For example 456 (4+5+6=15 1+5=6) has the Root of 6 (the sum of the initial sum 15). Entry options here are 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9.

The filters below the first one only look at the 3 possible pair positions.

[SELECT LINE WIDTH]
[SELECT LINE WIDTH AB]
[SELECT LINE WIDTH AC]
[SELECT LINE WIDTH BC]
This filter looks at the difference between the highest and the lowest digit within a number. For example 456 (lowest digit 4, highest digit 6: 6-4=2) has the line width of 2; the difference the highest digit 6 and the lowest digit 4. Your entry choices are 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9.

The filters below the first one only look at the 3 possible pair positions.

[SELECT TYPES]
With this filter you are selecting the 3 types of numbers possible within the Pick 3 game: SINGLES (all digits are different: 356), DOUBLES (two digits of the number are equal: 355), TRIPLES (all digits are the same: 333). So your entry options are: SINGLES DOUBLES and TRIPLES.

[SELECT HIGH LOW]
[SELECT HIGH LOW BOXED]
These filters allow you the select numbers based on high and low digits within the number. HIGH digits (H) are 5 6 7 8 9 and LOW digits (L) are 0 1 2 3 4. The first selection looks at the number on a positional level, meaning the position of the high and low numbers is of importance. There are 8 options possible for this selection:

HHH, HHL, HLH, HLL, LHH, LHL, LLH, LLL.

The second filter only looks at the number as a whole, meaning how many digits are high and how many are low. That reduces the choices to the following 4: HHH, HHL, HLL, LLL.

[SELECT EVEN ODD]
[SELECT EVEN ODD BOXED]
These filters allow you the select numbers based on even and odds digits within the number. EVEN digits (E) are 0 2 4 6 8 and ODD digits (O) are 1 3 5 7 9. The first selection looks at the number on a positional level, meaning the position of the high and low numbers is of importance. There are 8 options possible for this selection:

EEE, EEO, EOE, EOO, OEE, OEO, OOE, OOO.

The second filter only looks at the number as a whole, meaning how many digits are even and how many are odd. That reduces the choices to the following 4: EEE, EEO, EOO, OOO.
